Upon start up, my '95 960 gives off a heavy raw gas smell underhood and out the tailpipe which also gives off a lot of smoke. Both the smell and smoke stop after the engine warms up for a minute or so. BTW, it is 80 degree F where I am so whatever it is has nothing to do with cold weather. Could it be a leaky injector dripping gas into the combustion chamber or even down as far as the catalytic converter? I remember reading about this problem here at BB about a year ago. Please, help because as you know one does not want to burn a valve or otherwise have the trouble and expense of 960 engine repairs. Best regards.
