I put new rotors and pads on the rear of my wagon last week now it squeals like a pig. I did a search and someone claiming to be Dave said, "Use lubricant between the BACK of the pad and the piston. The adhesive stuff doesn't work. Get some high temp silicone grease (Volvo used to have some silicone/PTFE grease, but other brands will probably work as well) and put a thin coat on the back of the pad and on each side of the shims. Be careful not to get any on the rotors or friction side of the pad." Is this the really the way to stop the squeal?
