Stalling when it's cold 700 1986

I live right outside of Philly and it's been cold lately.
Ever since this cold spell my brick always hesitates and stalls right after I start up in the morning.
The idle is fine, and I let it warm up for a few minutes before I drive, but as soon as I shift from park to dive the damn thing hesitates when I try to accelerate and then it stalls.
It always starts back up, and it runs fine after the first five minutes, but does anyone know what causes this?
