My 81 with cis is running fine at lower speeds, however, when I accelerate or go above about 40 or 45 she coughs and sputters. It almost sounds like a fuel shortage issue, I sometimes here the "thock-thock,thock" that I assume is detonation from a lean condition. Sometimes it will die, I throw her in neutral and crank and she starts right up. Once I add gas, she sputters, and sometimes dies again.
I replaced fuel filter, ran like a top, until I got on the highway, then it did it again, replaced main fuel pump on Tuesday, did it again. I'm starting to get peeved, I'll search the archives today, but thought I'd give a holler and someone might know just what's going on. Oh, yeah, the fuel pump relay seems to working fine also. Could it be electrical or a plugged fuel something? Any ideas? Thanks brickers.
