Gas in My Air Mass Meter 200

My 1982 244 with a B21F engine is having some troble getting it to start in the cold. I have spark and think I am getting gas but it will not start. My fuel is delivered via the LH1 set up and I am running with the chrysler ignition system. Checked all the fuses and wiring. I took my air mass meter off to try to swap in a spare and the throtle body hose and the out side of the air mass meter are soaked in gas. Could this be my problem. If not should it be gas soaked if no Why is it? any help is very useful. Well back to the driveway in 10 degree weather. I thought Jersey was supposed to be warm.
