I have a 1991 940 turbo wagon with a little over 124000 miles on it. the car was in an accident, i bought it as an R title and rebuilt the front of the car. i have driven the car about 20000 miles since May (when i got it completed) problem free. I was pulling away from a traffic light and was going about 25 mph when the car stopped running immediatily. i checked the simple things first; fuel, cap and coil, timing belt, timing, and simple electrical stuff. the car had little to no spark when i pulled the plugs. i decided to take the car to a mechanic, big mistake. the mechanic had the car for nearly 7 weeks, replaced the crankshaft position sensor, then the ignition module, and the ignition control unit under the dash. Before replacing the ignition control unit, he was able to get the car to run for a minute or two, then it would sputter like it was getting flooded. then i had to get the ICU for him. he said that the old one had a burnt circuit or something. he said the interior lights didnt work and when you replace the fuse it burns the fuse. this worked when i took the car too him. after all this the car still will not start at all now. at this point i could tell that the mechanic had no clue with what he was doing. i was upset and had him return my car to my apartment. i am now worried that he may have made the problems worse. since then i have taken the car to a electronic specailist and explained to him what happened and that someone else was trying to fix the car and i think that they may have worsened the problem. this may be as simple and stupid as one wire being off or something really bad, i just dont know. I live in state college pa and go to school at PSU and was wondering if anyone knows of a good volvo mechanic in the area or a possible solution to my problem. i generally do all my own repairs and maintance to the car, i just dont have the time or a garage to work on it here at school. -Andrew
