Upper Strut Nut 200 1991

Hi Everyone,

I started working on my front srut/strut mount/balljoint replacement today, and was unable to get the big nut that attaches to the top of the strut to loosen. Does it matter if the car is on the ground or not when I attempt to loosen it? Any help is greatly appriciated.
