Brick died on road with gas starvation symtoms. I thought it might be out of gas since my sending unit is broken. Put in four gallons and it still wouldn't start.
I was getting some ignition but only stumbles. Put my finger on the fuel pump relay and I felt it click over when I turned the key. Can't say I heard the fuel pump working though, and after several minutes trying to start it I slid under and felt the pump. It was dead cold. Shouldn't it be a little warm after all that cranking?
When I get it home I am going to check for 12v at the pump.
I think I fried it due to running it out of gas two or three times.
I also suspect that my feeder pump is inoperational due to my yanking on the sender leads thinking that it was a unpluggable connector.
Well, I am going to replace the feeder and the main. (if my diagnosis checks out)
My question is other than the check valve and filter what else should be replaced while I'm under there? I assume there is a high pressure hose that goes from the HP pump outlet to the steel fuel line. Has anyone bought one of these? Also, does anyone know what size the low pressure fuel line is that goes from the tank to the main pump?
thanks,
Larry
