I would be interested in hearing what problems others have had with your S90. My experience:

I have a 1995 965 wagon now with 235,000 km

I bought it from a lady who it seems was tired of paying $1000 Cdn ($650 US) each time she took the car in for an oil change. Mostly small things and ineptitude on the part of the dealer in my opinion.

Significant things I have run into:

1. Rear main seal leaking badly at around 180,000 km
2. Both fron ball joints and one tie rod replaced due to wear caused by corrosion (lifetime lubricated???)
3. One front hub bearing corroded and worn due to torn seal allowing water/salt/dirt into bearing. Note that the hub and bearing is an integral unit which must be replaced as a unit $475 Cdn
4. A/C condenser leak due to corrosion after about 6 years
Transmisison selector position switch intermittent (at start on cold days, trans mode lights flash and trans goes into manual mode until car warms up) and back-up lights usually do not come on
5. Two leaking vacuum bellows in the ECC cabin heating system (difficult to access for replacement)
6. A few less important electrical headaches: many inst panel/switch bulbs burned out, sometimes the cruise will not reengage (must reset speed to get it going), one seat heater not working, repeated bulb failure indications on braking - finally found the ground wire from the lamp to the body had a poor crimp.
8.One headlight wiper non-functional due to internal damage - probably from ice preventing wiper from moving,
9. And of course, the black vinyl covering on the inner door panels is wrinkled (aren't they all like this?)

I still like the car and wouldn't get rid of it. But some problems due to poor assembly and failure of lifetimne lubricated items bother me. What is wrong with installing a few grease nipples???
