I'm going to take the intake system on my b21A apart next week to fix the hunting at idle and low revs cruise. I will clean out the carb and change gaskets and rubber "thing" in the 175 CD. I also thought i'd clean out the casting marks from the intake manifold and mathc port it to the carb body while i have it apart, and also to the head if i don't have to touch the head, won't be bother to take it off and apart (I may port the head another time). What i wonder is what cams that will work with the stock B21A A cam, i've been told that the K is not such a good idea, but i've heard that the v cam can be used with good results. How much power inrease can I expect with a change to the V, or perhaps the VX or VX3, but they would probably be more difficult to get hold of from the scrap heap. How much power will cleaning up the intake manifold give alone, without a cam change. I will also adjust timing to as much advance i can get without detonation. If i later decide to port the head, how much power is there to gain here? I will not change the carb because i'm not willing to spend the money. Is there anything that can be done to the carb to make it flow more? I have the time but not the money....
