I didn't even know that there was a red battery warning light on the instrument panel. I've only owned the car 17 years. The owner's manual said to check the alternator belt and have the car serviced immediately. On the way to the dealership, my directional lights quit working and the gas and heat guage pooped out. The car will be looked at tomorrow, but one of the service guys said the alternator belt(s) were fine. He said the battery looked old (it is 6 years, 3 months old). The battery cranks the car just fine. What am I looking at as far as repairs and costs. I love the old rusted out 240, but I have recently put a few hundred into the car and am afraid of the slippery slope phenomena of putting more money into the car. The alternator has never been replaced.
Thanks,
