Please help me pass emmissions. (not empty) 200 1987

i got bad news for my 240 Dl which is an '87. im 16 and i took it into the shop to do a safety and emmisions. the safety was fine after i installed a new caliper. i called to do an oil and lube before emmisions but my mechanic told me that it had failed in all three categories (NOx,etc.) i cant take it out to do a good drive because i bought it as is for $450 canadian in AS IS condition. its extremely cold here and i bet it played part in the failing. Any way what could i possibly do to pass???????? i cant really afford the expensive volvo parts. Please help. i have had this car for 8 months but have just began to put it on the road because i just recently got my G2. i have been on here for those 8 months and i have always got good help. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!
