i have have an 87 240 Dl that is non-turbo. i recently failed all three parts of the emmisions today :( i have been looking around for opinions of the speed (which i dont find all that bad...if you can drive stick; im only 16) any way here are some of the things people have said some said its slow while others say its fast. these are from those who say its fast: BY THE WAY WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE 240'S BRAKES?? .

It always purrs, even in REALLY cold weather, and loves to go fast. The pickup is awesome,

a reason to buy a 240 is simply because it's unique! It's also a little powerhorse. I refuse to believe that it only has 114 hp!


Although it only has a 4 cylinder engine with 114 horsepower, I have found that it really moves.

When driving alone, the acceleration and handling is decent. However, with three adults in the back, acceleration is sluggish and the car feels weighed down.
