Petroleum jelly on o-ring 200

Before I found out that you are not supposed to put petroleum based products on o-rings, I put a very small amount of petroleum jelly on the 2 o-rings for the OD solenoid in my 1992 wagon. Is it pretty much garanteed that the o-rings will fail soon? Do you think I should remove the solenoid and replace the o-rings?
