I'm at a loss.
Tonight I replaced a ball joint up front that was long overdue, and since that didn't take too long I figured I'd check the rear end one more time to try and locate the rattling noise that incessantly bothers me.
I mean it is constant, and very annoying.
From both sides to the rear.
I torqued the bolts that hold the shocks on over spec and the things just rattle rattle.
My bushings are all original (115k miles) so there is the ever so slight chance it could be the trailing arm bushings. (now that it's warm I'll finally be able to go use 'the tool' on those)
But I think it's the shocks. My postulation is that the metal sleeve that fits over the mounting bolts is slightly too large???
(but i can't really tell... they look the same as my original Boge shocks I removed a year ago)
But it's driving me bonkers. My trailing arm bushings are not blown out, nor are my torque rod bushings. So i don't think they would just rattle, even if they are a bit squishy.
Have any of you experienced this with the Turbogas shocks?
If my memory serves me correctly, mine are Turkish manufacture
or Mexican.. (the front and rear are made in those two spots, but I can't remember which is which)
