While installing the new solenoid in the starter (which starts like a champ now, thanks for your accurate diagnosis) I noticed to my horror that two bell housing bolts were missing. On the trip last weekend I thought there was more vibration than normal, but it was hard to tell going 85 in fourth gear in a 220 with a header and 2 1/4 exhaust...its just all loud.
So, is this a fluke of nature requiring a dose of locktight on the new bolts, or are there any theories of larger gremlins to seek out?
