I'm right now trying to finish up changing my timing belt. I'm getting a what seems like a misfire, although it dosent happen under only load, it happens all the time. My first thought was the timing is off a tooth, but I've checked it about 800 times and it's not. I even put the lower cover on, and the mark on the crank pulley lines up with 0 perfectly. The cam and intermediate pulleys line up with thier respective dots as well. To further confuse matters, I decided to replace the plugs and wires while doing all of this. I've put the old plugs back in, but the old wires were kinda ruined when taking them out, so I'm stuck with the new wires. I've tried un-plugging injectors to see if I can narrow it down to a specific cyl. But they all cause the idle to drop and make the car want to stall. I'm really at my wits end with this one. WTF did I do?

here are some of the details, which may or may not have anything to do with it. I'm running the car without any of the accessory belts connected. No water pump, alternator, or PS pump (dont worry, I'm not letting it overheat). I used a screwdriver in the flywheel teeth to facilitate crank pulley removal.

Oh another thing. The outer belt guide (or whatever you call it) seems to have it's notch facing opposite side of the notch on the block when it's installed what seems to be correct. The little nub sticking out of it interferes with the crank pulley when I try to install it, if I have it's notch lined up with the notch on the block. Is this normal?
