I decided against buying the replacement foam($170.00). Opted, instead, to buy a bootle of "PL Premium wood glue"(polyurethane)at about 8.00. It claimed it would stick to anything, including foam. I also bought a 1' section of carpet($2.50).
Sure enough the glue caused the foam to hold together nicely. And for good measures I glued a section of carpet over the repaired area. Additionally, I put a section of carpet, in the rear, on both sides where the foam contacts the frame.
The whole thing turned out really well. For a grand total of $10.50. (and I only used about 1/4 of the bottle of glue)
I also used the plastic ties instead of the hog rings. This also worked really well.
Now for the passenger seat.
Good luck all
