SU jet slips out of sleeve 1800

I have an SU H6 carb with a jet that every once in a while stays lowered (I assume this is a cold start function) and runs ultra-rich and rough. I've tried to tweek the bracket a bit but it still at times stays down (the bracket is tight by the way). The last time it happened I tied the jet tightly against the sleeve with wire and this works for now. Any better ideas?
