Installing a Cargo/Dog Barrier in 940 Wagon 900

Hi: I got a used cargo barrier (cage type) for my 940 wagon, but I cant figure out some of the hardware. There are bolt holes in the side frame, but the brackets that fit there also have a "pin" on the back of the bracket to supposedly go in some registration hold near the bolt hole, I guess to keep it from moving around. There are no registration holes pre-drilled in my frame. Could someone who has put one of these in please help with details?? Many thanks!!
