I recently purchased an 1988 760 gle. I have never owned a 6 cyl Volvo before only 4 cyl's ....Everytime the car is started it runs and idles fine for about 2-3 minutes then abruptly stops as if some one has turned the key off ,it is a clean shut down. I have tried to locate a scan tool but it seems they dont make one for this year and model ..some books have said it has a self diagnostic unit on the drivers side strut tower but I cannot locate anything like this. the coil and battery are fine. I feel it is an electrical problem. possibly something with the fuel system ......if you have any input or have dealt with this model your input will be much appriciated ....
