88 760 gle cuts out heres some more info 700 1988

Recently purchased a 1988 760 gle. I have never owned a 6 cyl Volvo before only 4 cyl's ....Everytime the car is started it runs and idles fine for about 2-3 minutes then abruptly stops as if some one has turned the key off ,it is a clean shut down. I have tried to locate a scan tool but it seems they dont make one for this year and model ..some books have said it has a self-diagnostic unit on the drivers side strut tower but I cannot locate anything like this. The coil and battery are fine. I feel it is an electrical problem. Possibly something with the fuel system ...if you have any input or have dealt with this model your input will be much appreciated.... Thanks Jack ....outside Chicago

Each time the car starts up and dies it becomes harder and harder to start until it wont start at all ( 3-4 time ) I thank you greatly for your input. What relay do you think it could be and do you know the location? thanks again jack

I posted the top message and got some great input thanks a lot guys …I added the bottom message today to possibly narrow the trouble down I am also having a difficult time locating some of these relays ..should I check the relays one by one until I find the problem ? is the fyi relay under the hood or in the center console …thanks again
