I think I have a bad Throttle Position Switch... 200 1989

...because now my brick cranks up and it's like somebody's gunning it! Idle is 2500+. I don't like it very much.

It's been idling high at about 1500 for a while when it's cold. Today I cleaned the IAC and disconnected/connected the throttle position switch. I confirmed my IAC is working properly. I replaced the flame trap. Suddenly, it started doing this. I've recently cleaned the throttle body and replaced the bellows from AMM to TB. I put in some 4" Infinity speakers today as well :)

When I disconnect the throttle switch, the car idles happily at 750 rpm.

My question is "Can I do damage driving it while it's idle is so high for a couple days until the switch gets here?"

AND

"Is there anything else that could be causing these symptoms?"

It idles ok once it is in drive. I'm worried about clunking the transmission and messing up the U-joints.

Thank you all so much. I've saved so much dough already from this resource and I also am having fun. I have hope that my brick might be running like a top soon if the switch is all that is wrong!!! :)
