Intermittant Starting Problems 200 1980

My 242 GT with FI has been having problems starting lately. It will turn over really well, but it won't catch at all. If I leave it for a few hours, it will usually start the next time I try it. After it starts, when I hit the gas it nearly stalls. Ocassionally when I turn off my car I can smell gas. Any ideas? Could it be my fuel pump? Clogged fuel filter?
