Is there a way to adjust the heater valve? 700 1986

My AC is not very cool. I am wondering if it could be that the heater valve is leaking a little. I noticed a pretty big difference between the outside air temp (cool) and the vent temp (a little warm) last night with the AC off and the heater control to its coldest setting. Suspecting a bad heater valve, I removed it and tested it. It seems to have a good seal when a vacuum is applied, but I am not sure exactly what is happening when hooked up to the car. I read a post from the archives that suggested that the heater valve could be adjusted. Is this possible?

FYI: The heater valve is a Volvo part, all plastic, and I replaced it about 2 years ago. The flow arrow points toward the firewall and the valve is installed in the hose connected to the block.

Thank you,
Steve
