The biggest problem areas are the hood, trunk and roof, but especially the hood. I first clean the paint, apply polish and then pure carnuba (sic?) wax.
The paint is original (19-years-old) and was never clear-coated. Is it too far gone to hold a layer of wax? The color is still good, although the paint has a haze to it and isn't as reflective as other body panels. I assume that isn't a good sign.
Should I try that clay stuff when cleaning the paint? Currently I use a moderately-abrasive cleaner (something with a "7" in the name) and Meguiars polish and wax.
Thanks much!
