Hello all BB'ers

Yesterday i went to my local pick n pull and found some volvo speakers from a 89 700 . when got home i tested them to see if they work which they are.I hooked them up to the front speaker connectors that were there.My wagon did not have front speakers so i thought i would hook these up for a while before i do an upgrade later on. They are not on. I thought that the wires were powered as long as you have the speakers connected.where are these wires suppose to get their power from?
I thought they were coming from the factory amp too. It's no big deal tho.I will eventually upgrade sounds.
