an interesting ChAnGe when I converted to 20w 50... 200

Gentlemen,

Other than finding a junkyard 15-20 minutes from my house w/ four nice 240s and scavaging some parts, I changed the type of oil I was previously using (10w 30) to a heavier weight 20w 50.

I have been collecting mental notes of previous BrickBoard posts and found that, in general, many Bricksters prefer 20w 50. I decided to 1) change from a full synthetic to a synthetic blend in order to keep all the new seals pliable, and, 2) try and utilize a heavier weight oil in order to curb the notorious Volvo chatter.

My ride is in an excellent state of tune... I have an automatic tranny and get 24-25 mpg easy... just about EVERYTHING mechanical, or related, has been either maintainenced or replaced. The "chatter" has always been minimal but needed improvement. I had previously thought about new hood insulation from IPD but wanted to test the oil theory.

What a difference in the overall sound and feel the heavier oil makes. I wonder if it will effect gas milage in any way?
A Shared Thought, Jon
