Luckily this happened close to home, all of a sudden the power steering went very stiff and it was hard to steer round the three corners I had to navigate. Power steering pump was replaced a few months ago. I checked the fluid level, and it is fine. Car was in having some work done to it, and oil change a couple of weeks ago. At that time they always do the long check list of the various parts of the car, and everything checked out just fine. Unfortunately my shop does not work on Friday afternoons (when of course this happened) and so I will be without my car until at least Monday. Just looked under the hood again, and found that the belt that goes up around the side of the power steering fluid reservoir has slipped off, it is not broken, just not where it should be!
