Using a B230F block in a Turbo? 700 1989

My son's 89 760 kept increasing blowby and started skipping so we finally checked the compression and found #1 had only 40 PSI. So we tore it down and found that the block was very worn. The ridge is about .045" deep! (The amazing thing is that my 89 760 has had the famous piston slap for the past 30K and his loose engine did not. Go figure!)

I have a good B230F block with all the same features (flywheel sensor etc.)except one: the hole for the drain back line from the turbo. There is a boss there, so if I get it drilled out, is there anything else that is different? I plan on using all the guts from the B230FT after replacing the wear items.

I really don't want to get it half-way together and find something else different between the blocks that prohibits it's use as a turbo. Has anyone out there done this before?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Jon
