Two problems I am determined to solve:
1. Buzzing sound from under the car ('86 744), which I can accelerate through, at about 10 mph. When I start the car from a dead stop, it is the most noticeable. I checked the heat shield for the cat and that seems to be okay. It is that kind of buzzing - a metallic kind of clatter, but more like a buzz, not an electrical sort of sound, more just like something loose. Exhaust seems to be just fine. I can't find anything loose under there. Seems to be coming from the middle of the car, just under the rear floor pans.
2. When I start my car in the a.m., first thing in the day, it surges up to about 1300 rpms, then goes down and stalls. I then start it up again and it is fine for the rest of the day. Any subsequent starts in the day are fine. Could it be the idle air control motor? Any other ideas?
Thanks everyone.
