A little thought and the right tools will solve most problems. The frequency valve for my 82 240 is no more. It runs great, the exhaust looks and smells clean and it cost me at most $1 and some time. After driving it for two days and checking fuel economy, it is getting around 24 mpg, so I've got it close to right. If anyone is interested in what I did, I'll post, although it'll be pretty long.
