The Other Volvo ...Intermittent brake failure 200 1986

My wife borrowed the "ol grey mare" the other day to take the kids to 6 Flags America. When she got back there was FEAR in her eyes. "those brakes are not right". I smirked, after all I wait until the last 20 feet and hard brake before I hit the apex like Juan Pablo Montoya several times a day, I mean there is some fade due to wear but come on ... Well this weekend when we went to the beach, it happened "oh my, lay on it, check right side, move right into shoulder, keep pressing pull park brake lever, she's braking in time....whew"

What the ....? My wife looked at me with a mix of fear and satisfaction, "I told you..." It only seems to happen after the vehicle has been driven at highway speed for a while.

I'm confused...stop think...vacuum?... or cylinder failure, no leaks of fluid.. any insight would be appreciated. Again as with my earlier post for my other Volvo, assume I don't know a thing, then I won't miss a thing.

Thanks
