Timing belt 700 1991

I need to retension the timing belt on a 740. The FAQ outlines the procedure as such:

remove the rubber plug from the timing belt cover, loosen the tensioner locknut, rock the crank slightly, and tighten and retorque the locknut.

Is this all there is to it and is it possible to screw this up? Many thanks as always
