heater hose routing on 95 945 900

I thought I was home free on this damn heater hose job. I was trying to connect the lower heater hose to the firewall and it obstructs the AT filler stick from being removed now.. The lower heater hose is already clamped on the block side (that was fun). When looking from the front of the car to the back...does that hose go around the rt or left of the AT filler stick???? JOHN
