Front bearings and Master Cylinder 200 1990

I am replacing the breaks on my '90 240. One side needs a new wheel stud, so I have pulled the rotors and hubs. I am all set to repack the bearings and am having trouble trying to understand how the grease seal will expand over the 'step' at the end of the hub. Is there a special technique to get the hub back on whith the seal in the right place? PLease help.

In the process, I managed to drain al the fluid from the master cylinder. Long story, but be carefull with what you plug the brake lines. Anyway, must I bleed the master cylinder separately , or will it bleed itself as I bleed all four wheels?

TIA
Dan
