Has anyone had a bad rear wheel bearing in their 122? I'm been dealing with a vibration and wheel wobble in the rearend (seems to be more on the driver's side).
I haven't been able to get my 122 on the road full time because at speed, the rear of the car vibrates so violently it is unsafe to drive it on a daily basis.
I've replaced the shocks, tires/rims (3 different sets), brakes, drums, and drive shaft. The differential is full of oil. The car has been on jacks for the last couple of months, and I've been run it with the tires on, the tires off, different tires/rims, the drums on, the drums off, the brakes on, the brakes off. The axles don't seem bent, the bushings seem fine. The only time I can get it to vibrate violently (on the jacks) is when the tires are on the car. I've tryed 3 different sets of tires with no difference. The problems seems to be inward of the drums. I'm willing to replace the wheel bearings, but I've spent enough time already that I could have replaced the rearend several times by now, and hate to spend time replacing the bearings without solving the problem. I'm just about to replace the rearend. Any suggestions on what to do or what to check??
