gauge questions on an 89 740 GL 700 1989

Couple of questions on the gauges on my 89 740 GL. Does this model have the temp compensation board and if so, can it be bypassed as easily as the 240? My temp needle stays locked midway with or without a/c, easy driving, hard driving, etc. Also was there any 740 model that came with a full gauge package. Looking to add an ammeter and oil pressure gauge but want it to look factory.
