Hello all. I am getting out of the volvo world. I thought i could get these two up and running in no time, but I've come to find out that I have no Time to work on them.
The 1971 164 has the M410 and B30. It was travaling along the interstate and the carbs had a fuel leak then the carbs caught on fire. the fire was put out quick enough to prevent major damage. The diapharms are still good. I had a friend do a compression test and all clyinders were between 115 to 135 with the exception of #5, it was at about 95. I've treid starting it, and found out that i can't afford a mechanicl fuel pump for it (45.00 NAPA). It has very little rust on it if any. It has been a long time since I've been out there to look at them.
The 1969 145 has the M41 along with the B20. I don't know whats wrong with this one. The engine looks good but who knows. the tail gate well not lock shut either. The Driverside rear door is very hard to open and hard to close. It does have verry nice cloth tweed interior though. and a spare windsheild on top of that.
I would prefer to sell these instead of having the local junkyard crush them. they would make a good project car or a good parts car.
Thbank you,
