A little more info on my rattling and hard to steer 745.
I replaced the steering rack about 1.5 years ago, so unless it was defective or I did something bad, it seems unlikely to be the problem. The stiffness is the same whether warm or cold (although cold is realtive this time of year).
Robert suggested the cone or strut bearing, and said it was easy to replace but the cartridge should be done by a pro.
I was under the impression the bearing at the top of the strut could only be removed by removing the spring, and after that getting the cartidge (shock) out would be easy. I am capable of either, I installed the shocks in the struts 4 years ago, but it would be nice to replace the bearing without having to remove the spring.
Is there synthetic ATF? I thought all ATF was synthetic?
What brand synthetic do you use?
