Foghorn sound while driving with AC 200

Hey all,
Recently while driving with the AC on I hear an intermittent foghorn like noise that is coming from the right front side of the car (perhaps the compressor?). It "lasts" 2-3 seconds then comes back 10-15 seconds later. I don't hear it all unless the air in engaged. I'm at a loss! Recent mods include the exhaust system...related??
