Interior roof mounted 'map' reading lamp? 700 1988

Having looked in many 700's interiors, I have never seen a map reading lamp mounted at front just above rear view mirror.
(as are standard on all later Ovlov's like 850's & V70's).

Are the USA/Canadian 700s (or 900's) fitted with a lamp above rear view mirror, or do you all struggle to see the map when driving/touring at night, like I do?
Because of the poorly placed central mounted roof lamp.
Any remarks, ... or mods, gratefully recieved.
