lost my key!!!!

i spent the weekend in lake ontario, and unfortunately i lost my ONLY set of car keys to my 1986 volvo 240DL. i called a locksmith today and he wants 300 dollars to come out and make me a copy. can you give me any money saving suggestions as to how i can figure this all out.
