What do I look for first? 200

And second? And third?....

1983 244 turbo, no i/c, stock

Was driving earlier today, everything fine. Stopped at the store. Got back in, started up the car. Now it's shaking in idle, idle speed just under 1K. No acceleration on it's own. When the turbo boosts, it gets up to about the same power I had with a plugged cat and no boost. Can still reach hiway speeds, but the car feels like it's working too hard.

I plan to check out the plugs tomorrow in the light. I've got new plugs, cap and rotor to put in, but no $$$ for wires this week, unfortunately. The wires on there now ain't too pretty, and I know this is something I need to do soon anyway, but she's done fine so far. Could any of that cause a sudden dramatic change in the "feel" of my brick?

BTW, I put in a new air filter maybe 2 months ago, and have replaced many of the vacuum hoses, at least those I could get to fairly easily, and the brake booster nipple, as well.

I've read that timing belts can slip, is this possible? Would it match these symptoms?

No electrical problems are evident anywhere else, but is that a possibility?

I guess I just need ideas on where to start looking ...

Thanks
