Retorqueing head bolts

Is it recommended to retorque the headbolts on b230ft engine after replacing the head gasket. I put my new gasket in last week and was wondering if I am supposed to retorque the bolts after a period of time. If so, is it recommended to loosen the bolts and then follow the same tightening procedure again as in the Haynes manual?
