my poor rusty friend 140-160

I really ought to say goodbye to my 164. I recently bought a new
car (VW golf TDI) and I have to say that I drive that far more than
the 164 even though I really like the 164.

Anyhow, I washed the 164 today and I noticed that it is starting
to rust on the back right side where there was probably some poorly
repaired accident damage from long ago. I've always known this car
was hit but because it tracks straight and doesn't eat tires I never
bothered to do anything about it. This said, I park it in a place
where every night it gets watered along with the lawn in my apartment
complex.

Part of me says "sell it to someone who will at least drive it" and
the other part says "chop it up for bits for your 145; power steering
and GT gauge cluster and repainted doors and..."

I'm torn -- as things stand I'm just letting her rot away when she
needs to be driven but realistically I'm just not going to drive her
as much as she should be driven. Anyone want a decent mechanically
but poor body wise 1970 164 with an M400 and spare M410? At the
current rate of decay, if she stays in a dry climate she should last
out the rest of the decade safely...

Or, do you think I should just strip her for parts and finish off
my 145? Will a front suspension from a 164 fit a 145 without too much
trauma?
