240 'flat hood' conversion 200

I have a 1983 diesel but am going to go V8, I wanted to also convert it to the flat hood style front end as I think it looks better. I have read that the flathood is indeed possible to convert to and they actually came on cars from 1979??

what year of 200 series did this hood come on so I can shop junkyards and pick one up for cheap?
