Dash Lights Out 700 1990

I haven't worked on this yet but am fishing for common causes of dash light(s) failure. I mean illumination of the tach, speedometer, etc. I've never seen them work so don't know if there's one bulb or many.

The rheostat has no effect.
All other lights appear to work.

Next stop: Crawling under the dash.
