Driveshaft support spring 200

While crawling around under the 1990 240DL I noticed that in the round driveshaft support there is a spring that seems to have come loose and is wedged incorrecty. It is definately in wrong. Where does the spring go? I think I'll need a cup washer? Do I need to remove anything to put this spring in and what will happen if I don't have it in? Thank you
