Affordable EXCELLENT Winter Tires (and all year) 200 1987

I just installed a 2nd set of Walmart "Wintermark" tires on my 87 245.

I went with the 204/75R14 tires - tallest ones I could tuck under the wheel wells.

Last December, I installed a set of 205/70R14's on the car - drove 20,000 kilometers (about 12,500 miles)- one night some turkey knifed one tire - took it back to Walmart - they replaced it - only charged a prorated cost at 10% wear -
and I drove with the tires December to August - 10% wear in 12,500 miles - and that was 1/2 summer, 1/2 winter.

So I received a new tire for $6.95CDN.

But the best part - the first set of tires are great - a lot of siping - that goes the full depth ofthe tread - not 1/3 of the depth like many other brands. So as the tire wears - the siping will still be there....

I live in a rural area - these tires have chewed their way out of many snowdrifts, chewed through soupy muddy roads, great on the highway, mud, rain, snow, ice...

At about 1/3 the price of Blizzaks, and you can leave them on all year if you want. They do not erase away on summer roads like blizzaks. One other owner even went down to Arizona in the summer with these "winter" tires on, and said they performed great.

Before you spend big bucks on the expensive brand names of "ice" radials, etc.
Check out your local Walmart. These are going on every vehicle I own....

And Walmart has been great with warranty service - just be careful with the Volvo wheel covers - most non-Volvo mechanics have no clue how to properly install the center claws and center locking disc - They have lost 2 covers for me already - when I mentioned the most recent one - the manager said - go buy a new one - we will re-imburse the bill.

Winter will be fun
